Black Ops 2 Zombies In "Tranzit", Includes Open World

Posted on Wednesday, September 26 @ 16:24:24 Eastern by

The trailer above is slightly ambiguous about what exactly makes up the Zombies portion of Black Ops II. Is it a campaign? Does the narrative involve the single-player story? Do zombies still explode in a shower of blood when you pop them in the head?

Studio Head Mark Lamia says that Black Ops II Zombies will feature a story-driven campaign, a "massive" open world, and a new mode called Grief.

Grief pits two teams of four against each other and the zombie hordes. The last team standing ultimately wins. It seems like Zombies has grown into about a third of the Black Ops II package, complimenting the branching single-player storyline and the competitive multiplayer.

Obviously there's a lot of variety present in the Call of Duty: Black Ops II package landing on November 13th for Xbox 360, PS3, PC, and Wii U. Are your dollars already aligned elsewhere or is America getting back to Call of Duty?

Yeah if it's a structured campaign, then I'm all over it, but I've never been a fan of the arena style thing before.

zombies is actually the only reason i ever buy a cod game, i dont know why but i really love the zombie part and playing with friends makes it a lot better

i wonder if they will release any of the old maps as dlc like they did with black ops, some of them are really well done and it really extended the life of zombies in black ops

How many hours of gameplay do you get out of the zombie portion of CoD before moving on to a different game?

sorry for the very late reply but better then never i guess

cant really say for sure how many hours i've put into Zombies but i played fairly heavy for the first year or so after release and still play every so often now, honestly i'd still play it quite a bit but most of the people i played with have moved on

a lot of people got bored of zombies fast but i've found most of those people are the type taking it very seriously and not just trying to have fun, honestly some of my most fun moments with zombies are when we've failed horribly on like wave 5

I have a pre-order on Amazon for the Hardened Edition for some extra things but I'm not sure if I'm actually going to get it or just say F it and save myself some money and pick something else up. I mean I'll have RE6, Assassin's Creed III and Liberation, as well as having Persona 4 Golden 7 days after this comes out.

The Zombie mode sounds promising though and it does look more interesting than the last few games, it seems Treyarch is trying to show they know what they are doing when it comes to Call of Duty.

Zombies was a nice addition to (and maybe the best part of) World at War that was a response to the Cod4 coop missions that has really taken off, with black ops expanding on it... It seems though that Treyarch (Sledgehammer/Activision) are releasing less with the game, favoring DLC to fill out the content...

Although Zombies has its charm and is fun - for a time, this seems like a lot of extra 'fluff' to me. It's analogous to Spec Ops & Survival mode in MW3, which were good, but lacked replay value. It's sad that the most played series of games is now having to rely on gimmicks (1/3 of the games content?) to sell games, as opposed to innovation and quality.

I wish the franchise would put their effort into developing solid/better multiplayer, the core of the game, with meaningful improvements that make the gameplay more fun, as opposed to things that are conceptually interesting, but aren't executed well.

Won't be picking this one up and regret buying MW3 and B.O.

Did you actually read the article? Not a single thing there is new to the genre or innovative, and it throws around a lot of jargon trying to sell the game as something different than the same Call of Duty game we've seen for the past 5 years.

    Troll much?
