Build Your Own Home In Skyrim's New DLC, Hearthfire

Posted on Tuesday, August 28 @ 09:30:00 Eastern by Alex_Osborn

Bethesda has just announced its latest downloadable add-on for Skyrim. Dubbed Hearthfire, this DLC pack doesn't appear to bring any particular story or combat-centric additions to the experience, but rather allows the player to build a house, raise a family, and the like. Sounds an awful lot like "Skyrim: The Sims" if you ask me.

Accompanying the announcement is a trailer that highlights all of the additions that Hearthfire will bring. For a full rundown on everything that will be included in the downloadable content, check out the video above.

As of right now, the DLC is only confirmed to be coming to the Xbox 360 at the affordable price of 400 Microsoft points and with a release date of September 4th. I can only imagine how furious PlayStation owners who are still patiently waiting for Dawnguard are right now.

Might be considerably obsolete on PC, unless it outperforms the mods that are already doing all of that.

My thoughts exactly, it seems the mod community is far ahead of Bethesda nowadays.

I wish Bethesda would either stop screwing their fans over or stop making games we want to play.

I actually started it up again after Dawnguard came out because I was thinking about getting it and just... my god... it's SO BORING.

Everyone who owns the PC version. The mod community has added dozens of hours of solid quests and content. I think I have over 50 mods that include better graphics, clothes, quests and what-not.

Were you a vampire? Vampires may be reluctant to enter or cross bodies of water, particularly running water. Your game just might be holding true to the mythology.

My system also kept freezing the second I touched water. I did the data delete and it worked great...for 2 whole days. Then it froze again. My PS3 DLC is Skyrim, the dust collector. I'm done playing it and won't be buying any of the DLC. Not paying for something I can't play. Borderlands 2 and BLOPS2 can't come soon enough
