Calvin Johnson Named Madden NFL 13 Cover Athlete

Posted on Thursday, April 26 @ 14:08:40 Eastern by

In the middle of Times Square (because why be modest?), Electronic Arts revealed that Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson has upset Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton to become the cover athlete for Madden NFL 13.

Sacking the 1st seed Cam Newton, 6th seed Calvin Johnson has made history as the first wide receiver and the first Detroit Loins player on the Madden cover since a blurry image of Barry Sanders on Madden NFL 2000. Johnson doesn't fazed by the supposed Madden curse:
Knowing that millions of fans took part in the campaign, and to be the one they selected to appear on the cover of the game they play every day is an honor. To make it this far, and to beat out guys like Cam and Aaron Rodgers, a Super Bowl winning quarterback, it’s surreal to say the least. Much love to all the fans who voted for me.
Johnson took a victory 90-minute photo shoot and one picture will be used as the base photo for the cover. Madden NFL 13 will be available for Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, and PS Vita on August 28, 2012.

Yes, Loin: The region of the hips, groin, and lower abdomen. Also one of several cuts of meat, such as tenderloin, taken from this part of an animal's body, typically including the vertebrae of the segment from which it is taken.

Would you like yours saignant, demi-anglais or bien cuit?

Will the curse strike yet again? Last year doesnt count because if your on Clevelands team youve been cursed before EA even phones you. Altho before I die Id like to see Detroit/Cleveland/Houston in a Super Bowl, gotta root for underdogs.

Detroits improved quite a bit the past few years and with Indy in the shitter Houstons got an even better chance for playoffs but poor poor Cleveland, maybe they should just clean house in management.

I refuse to watch any of their games until they win 8 in a season, been 10 years now...
Theyve upgraded their defense, now they just need some playmakers on offense. You watch 4 super bowl losses in a row, including back to back to the same team and you get a lil jaded.
