Capcom Misprints X360 SSFIV Arcade Edition Box Art

Posted on Tuesday, June 28 @ 16:07:04 Eastern by

I'm not going to harp too long on my mention of the IGN logo on the Okami Wii box art, but these snafus need to stop happening.

Capcom, on their official blog, have discovered that some of the Xbox 360 version of Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition was incorrectly labelled with Xbox without the "360" part. Not a big deal, really. Just thank the Japanese celestial gods that there isn't another copyright infringement lawsuit going down.

In response, Capcom will make amends with the force of a swift shoryuken:

In addition, we would like to make amends with an added bonus for fans – we will have a new box front image we’ve commissioned by artist Stanley “Artgerm” Lau (who recently redid character art for us on Street Fighter 3: Third Strike - Online Edition). We will have more information about this new cover (including an image) in an upcoming post very soon.

Since we’ll be making the artwork available as a digital file, that you’ll be able to print out on any color printer or at your local Fedex Kinko’s, even if your copy isn’t  affected, you’ll get the benefit.

PS3 owners, even though the printer didn’t mess your version up, we haven’t forgotten about you either. We’ll have a PS3 version of the new cover for you guys too.

So yeah, you'll have to print the new cover out if you were affected, but at least it's being fixed.

At least they didn't mess up like they did with Okami for Wii, where the box art accidentally shipped with the IGN logo printed on it.

I've been reading this site since I started using the internet (02? 01? I don't remember I think I was in 7th grade) and I just created an account so I could like the comment above.
