E3: PC or rather about the lack of it
By Starling

E3 2013 has been very silent for me. There's tons of media, but most of it buzzes past my ears without them catching the important keyword that my ears are fine tuned to receive: "PC" or "Personal Computer". Microsoft, Sony, EA and Ubisoft have all shown their cards...

Check Out BioShock Infinite's Reversible Cover

Posted on Sunday, December 23 @ 21:31:45 Eastern by Alex_Osborn
In response to fan outcry against BioShock Infinite's less than desirable cover art, Irrational Games decided to throw the complainers (hey, I'm one of them) a bone, by letting the community vote on an alternate cover that will be printed on the flip side of the insert.

The results are in, and here's what the majority selected.

Call me shallow, but this is the best news I've heard all week! This reversible cover was my number one choice among the candidates and easily ranks as one of my all-time favorites. What do you think of the alternate box art? Let us know in the comments below.

Box comes in, disc comes out, disc goes in, disc comes out, disc goes in box, box sits on shelf for 6 months to a year, box gets traded in to gamestop for pennies. I have nothing against cover art, but it doesn't factor in my decision about the game at all.

That said this one is neat. Although I liked the other one too.

Exactly. I couldn't possibly care less what box art looks like. My copy of skyrim came without the paper attached to the case, so I pull out the skyrim disc from a green semi transparent case. And I could not possibly give less of a ****.

That being said, I can still appreciate good box art, and I don't think this looks that great. I liked the original much more.

Is it me or does this cover art look like a concept art? Still better then the regular one.

I did not have a problem with the other one too much. I don't really care for this one personally.

I agree. I actually like the original box art better. Looks like more time and money was spent on it. This one seems kind of photoshopped together from, as Lien mentioned, concept art.

Agreed. It sort of hurts my head to look at.
Personally, I voted for #6 which had a much more muted palette. And while it did come in second, it seems the majority of gamers enjoy having their retinas seared.

I think it's pretty cool making use of the other side rather than leave it white. Still, won't change the game. However, when I opened Heavy Rain, there was a piece of paper that did nothing but just looked artistic. I didn't think it was useful, but I kept it anyway. When I began to install the game, it gave instructions to make an origami with it while I waited. THAT needs done for every PS3 game.

I still got the origami I made with the paper, I loved Heavy Rain since that moment on.

Every PS3 game should have something for you to do while you wait for the game to install. Like maybe play a little mini arcade game of some sort.

It's not the the one that I voted for, but it was my second choice, so I suppose I can live with it.

Yeah I voted for #6, but I like this one too. I'll be reversing my cover.

I like the design, but the Bioshock logo seems really out of place here.

Will probably get it on Steam anyway, won't see a cover reversible or otherwise.
