LATEST FEATURES Being A Console Is Actually Xbox One's Worst Asset
Microsoft's newest console has lots of different features, but video games might hold the device back from the software giant's true intentions.

Comix Zone Comes to PlayStation Plus Subscribers Free

Posted on Thursday, August 4 @ 18:49:12 Eastern by

I love Comix Zone. It's one of my favorite old-school, side-scrolling beat-'em-ups. I could use this post to tell you that the game will be coming to the PSN in the next batch of PlayStation Plus bonuses. I could use this post to tell you that subscribers to PS+ will get the game for free, much like Sega's Sonic the Hedgehog (1 and 2). I could even take the time here to tell you the specific date (August 9th) for Comix Zone's release (August 9th) and the full-game trial coming to Far Cry 2.

But that's not what I'm here for. I've mentioned several times before what SNES and Genesis-era brawlers I love better than the rest. There are two titles you could name, and you'd still be correct. In fact, I'll even give you a hint: These games are based on comics as well. Let's see how well you readers know me:

tl;dr

What Genesis/SNES-era side-scrolling brawler do I hold higher than any other? The first correct answer will get featured in The People Speak and will earn DOUBLE entries into our upcoming quarterly TPS drawing.

On of these is correct, but in order to win you have to be more specific. Please pay attention everyone else. ONE OF THESE IS CORRECT, BUT NOT SPECIFIC ENOUGH.

Is it worth buying a PS3 to recapture my childhood? Will this induce flashbacks to the neck pain I suffered from staring down at my Nomad for so long?

Wow, you had a Nomad. I looked it up, they only sold one million units. GameBoy Color sold 118 million units. Tech wise it looked like the Nomad was better and had a large library it could play. I guess I don't have a point, just babbling. Bye now.

We never owned a Genesis, I managed to score the Nomad for Christmas one year. I always thought it was pretty cool. Pretty much a completely portable Genesis. Full access to Genesis games, plus if you had the proper cable the thing hooked right up to the TV, and you could plug an additional controller into it.

    F***ing thing was bulky though.

    Spider-Man and Venom: Maximum Carnage?

Sorry, but Final Fight was totally better, if only for this:

Snacko gets it! Spider-Man and Venom: Maximum Carnage or Spider-Man and Venom: Separation Anxiety would have both been acceptable.

I'm just glad I bought the Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection on the 360 for like $15 before they put all the individual games on XBLA for like $4 a piece, I might have fallen for it. One of the best collections ever.
