Connectivity And Freezing Issues Plague The PS3 Version Of Black Ops II

Posted on Wednesday, November 14 @ 12:36:36 Eastern by Alex_Osborn

First it was the Mass Effect 2 disc debacle with PC gamers, now it's freezing and server issues with the PlayStation 3 crowd. Honestly, shouldn't everyone know better than to purchase a Call of Duty title for any platform other than the Xbox 360? I kid, I kid... Or do I?

Over on Activision's official community forums, a number of PS3 gamers are reporting issues with the game freezing as well as problems connecting to a server. As you might expect, most of them aren't too happy to say the least.

Activision has responded to the threats complaints via Twitter, saying, "We are aware of connectivity issues that some players are facing in Black Ops II on PlayStation 3. We are working on resolution, thank you."

If you've been having issues with the game, please let us know in the comments below. There isn't much we'll be able to do about it, but it's never good to hold all that anger inside.

It's hell. The menu freezes every 10 seconds, parties are hard to keep alive, and my PS3 froze at least 6 times before I just called it quits.

But, it was day 1, so I don't care. The same thing happened with Black Ops, and it *still* happens with MW3. Everything else works fine, but there's really no guide to anything to help new players. I don't even know what the clip duration limit is for exports or any of that stuff...

Yet another reason I don't buy games for PS3.

    XBOX360 every time.

I know DUMPWEED got owned by these issues. I can't believe how sub-par some games are on PS3 even though it's been out for what feels like my entire life.

The menu screen has been freezing momentarily on me, but my brother says it failed to load instead of freezing. The PS3 version definitely didn't get enough attention. The game altogether feels rushed, too.

I can't remember which CoD game it was, but people were complaining about PS3's graphics were worst than Xbox 360's. In fact, there was an online petition for a refund. Anyone remember that?

Ive been having severe freezing issues that has corrupted my hard drive data. Furthermore, connection issues have stopped me from playing all day long. The PS3 version is riddled game breaking problems.

Longevity-wise and compared to a PS3 at launch, yeah, it IS compared to a low price.

Or QQ and play on the inferior console of your choice (if your console isn't bugged).

oh no you're handing out the dreaded thumbs down

don't cut that longevity bullshit, to consistently play top tier games at the settings worth bragging about, you're upgrading something every 2-3 years, compared to 6 years for a consoles lifespan

and there aren't any $499 computers when you factor in a decent monitor, tower and components (even if built by yourself) and gaming mouse that will run games at max settings

I gave you a thumbs up Icepick. I didn't feel that was worth down voting. The price to entry is debatable. Id argue people spend a lot of money on the tv they play there console on but they also usually already have a TV. The price of a good pc can be built for as low as $700. There are also other factors to what system people choose like console exclusive games. I was just giving a friendly welcome to anyone that was interested in trying something I find better.

I knew there had to be a good reason why I bought it for 360.
