Connor Kills Reds And Blues In Assassin's Creed III's New Engine

Posted on Thursday, August 2 @ 10:29:11 Eastern by

Everything we've seen of Assassin's Creed III thus far has shown Connor attacking the British. This AnvilNEXT trailer breaks the silence surrounding Connor's deliberate path between both sides of the revolutionary conflict.

In addition to showing off some of the huge environments and huge NPC tallies, the AnvilNEXT engine will provide dynamic weather, wildlife, and some pretty brutal combat. Ubisoft is calling Connor "the most detailed third-person action character ever created."

Who cares about the details when you can string an enemy up in the trees for all his buddies to see? Assassin's Creed III is scheduled for release on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC this October 30th in the US (and the 31st in a lot of other territories).

I'm very eager to see how it turns out. I'm trying not to buy into the hype though. It'd make the wait until October absolutely unbearable.

Already bought it thanks to that deal from Newegg you guys posted last week. I was tempted to go for the CE for the pretty badass statue of Connor, but the rest of the stuff in the American CE is kind of lame.

I just can't get on board with AC. I'm almost finished with Brotherhood and I'm so phucking bored I can't bring myself to pick it back up. There's barely any emotional attachment and it's getting almost as repetitive as the original AC. Yes, playing as an assassin is cool, as well as the whole Memory-encoded DNA thing, but come on. I need better character development and a more engaging story to keep this up.

Whatever you do, don't play Revelations. It will absolutely kill the series for you. We'll have to wait and see how ACIII turns out.

I actually find the story to be the most engaging thing about this series, with all the cliffhangers and conspiracies. But then I think I like the Desmond storyline a lot more than other people.

I actually really enjoyed Revelations, though i admit it was flawed in some areas. The Desmond sections were boring and the den defense was crap, though it was easy to avoid once you figured it out.

I loved the city since i have Muslim friends at work who play it, and it was cool to talk to them about it and get their input on the city. Plus i think it had some of the best action setpieces, like the aquaduct templar lair chasing the boat. I also loved Bombs and the hookblade, made getting around so much easier.

I have really high hopes for ACIII, even more since the American Revolution is my second favorite historical subject, right behind Europe's ship exploring days and th disccovery New World.
