Counter-Strike GO Release Date And Pricing Announced

Posted on Monday, June 4 @ 13:16:43 Eastern by Jonathan_Leack

Interested in Counter-Strike Global Offensive? If not, you should be.

Valve has announced that CS: GO will be releasing on August 21st, 2012. Better yet, it'll be offered for only $15 on three major platforms: Steam, PlayStation Network, and Xbox Live.

With a release date edging before its major competition—Medal of Honor: Warfighter and Call of Duty: Black Ops 2—as well as a budget price, the decision on whether or not to get CS: GO has just become a lot easier.

The PC version of CS: GO currently has a beta underway, and that's the best way for you to get your hand on what is going to be an evolutionary step for the series.

Wow.... only $15. That could either be extremely good or a sign that the game is bad.

I played it yesterday and will be playing it on the show floor. I'll let you know what I think.

Neither IMHO. I think the 15$ price tag is right on par with the content delivered. Highly upgraded visuals, streamlined and refined gameplay. They're not doing anything revolutionary here and they know this. They're simply delivering proven gameplay to multiple platforms and making it accessible to the users that are sick of spending 60$ on the COD franchise. Well done Valve! The Beta is fantastic, though the PC version does need some tweaks.

Sounds like no campaign of any sort. In fact, sounds like Counter-Strike HD. I'll have to hear some opinions after release before I geht.

For fifteen bucks, if it has solid gameplay, I'll be all over this.

I knew that if anyone was going to bring me news of joy about CS:GO it would be Jonathan_Leack, I would've payed $60 for that game, for $15 it's a steal.
