Crytek Confirms TimeSplitters 4 Is Not In Development

Posted on Friday, April 27 @ 14:29:54 Eastern by Alex_Osborn

Earlier this week, word around the web was claiming that a new installment in the dearly beloved TimeSplitters franchise was in development at Crytek and that the game had been seen in playable form. It goes without saying that this juicy little rumor left a whole bunch of FPS fans brimming with joy.

Unfortunately, rumors are labeled as such for a reason, and in the case of a new TimeSplitters title, the report - as exciting as it may have been - was unreliable.

In an effort to squash the speculation for good, a Crytek spokesman issued the following heartbreaking words: "No, it's not in development." While it doesn't get much more blunt than that, hopefuls unwilling to face the evil truth will undoubtedly keep the dream alive, so just bear that in mind when new rumors resurface in a few months time.
