Undead Lab's zombie-infested action title has finally hit XBLA. Is it worth a few of your precious Microsoft Points, or should you whack it over the head with a two-by-four and continue on your merry way?

E3: PC or rather about the lack of it

E3 2013 has been very silent for me. There's tons of media, but most of it buzzes past my ears without them catching the important keyword that my ears are fine tuned to receive: "PC" or "Personal Computer". Microsoft, Sony, EA and Ubisoft have all shown their cards...

Dark Souls 2 Announced At VGA 2012 [Update: Trailer Inside]

Posted on Friday, December 7 @ 18:57:25 Eastern by

I know I haven't exactly conquered Dark Souls, but I'm sure I'm not the only one to pussy out before reaching the end. Still, I couldn't help but jump for joy as a knight got the crap beaten out of him during tonight's Spike Video Game Awards. I knew it when I saw it.

Dark Souls II was revealed at tonight's award show with a prerendered trailer showcasing dragons, masked attackers, and a gallant knight who could really take an arrow to the knee... or two.

Here's the trailer for the game that aired during the VGAs. Skip to 2:30 to get right to the trailer.

Yeah, even though it was prerendered, it was a pretty awesome representation of Dark Souls style.

I beat Demon's Souls twice, loved it.

Dark Souls kicked my butt. The insanely poor framerate on the PS3 during the swamp made me quit.

I'm glad a third game is in development, but I doubt I have it in me to buy it.

Why didnt you just use the shortcut that let you bypass that part.

I've seen videos of people playing on the PS3, and Blightown didn't seem to have much slowdown. However, taking the back way in from the New Londo Ruins and bypassing the upper parts is definitely the preferable way unless you know the area and enemies very well, and you actually want something up there, like the Iaito. Also getting the Rusted Iron Ring from the Undead Asylum is very useful, since it lets you run in the swamp.

Yeah pick the key at the beginning when you're starting a game and go take the elevator to New Londo Ruins from there take a bridge across then climb your way down and cross the swamp to Quelaags Domain.
But thats for casuals and noobs. Real gamers take vacations to Blighttown and the swamp. Also to visit the best pyromancer in the game.
I managed to make it through Blighttown with just 10 estus flasks and 4 purple mosses. Shit was intense but goddamn was it satisfying to finally get out of there.

Wow, this just makes my day. I've never played Demon's Souls, and I only played Dark Souls just recently on PC, but I really like that game. The combat system is probably the coolest I've seen in any RPG, or indeed any third person game with an emphasis on melee combat. It is really refreshing to see a game where you choose weapons based more on how they behave, rather than some arbitrary numbers indicating how much damage they do. That said, the game does have arbitrary numbers indicating how much damage weapons do.

Too true. I love Dark Souls if only for its unique approach to gameplay other titles take for granted.

Dark Souls is my favorite game, ever. It hits the right spot on everything in what Im looking for in an incredibly engrossing game. I have great faith this game will surpass that. REALLY EXCITED.
