Microsoft's newest console has lots of different features, but video games might hold the device back from the software giant's true intentions.
Before Microsoft and Sony do something regarding their future in the video game business, I wanted to write, and I've wanted it for a long time now, but other things kept getting in my way, and fearing that tomorrow might be too late, today will have to do.

Dark Souls Kills 1.19 Million Units At Retail
Posted on Tuesday, May 8 @ 23:33:33 Eastern by Daniel Bischoff
Dark Souls beat the ever loving sh** out of many, many gamers since landing at retail for the Xbox 360 and PS3 in North American and Europe. Namco Bandai revealed today in their financials that 1.19 million individuals were prepared to die.
From Software self-published the title in Japan and revealed that the game had sold well since launch way back in November. Of course, all of these stats and figures are ahead of the game's release on PC in Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition on August 24th.
It's one of those games that I wish I could play to 100%, but it's such a slog. I understand why people like it, but I can't be the guy playing it through twice and maxing out a character.
I bought the first one and spent about 15 hours really trying to get into the game, but the difficulty just made it no fun. The game isn't bad at all just extremely difficult. In fact,t he hardest game I ever played. I had to return the game.
I 100%'d it. It's really not that tough once you know what you're doing. I mean, sure, you die. But death isn't costly. It happens. It's the little shock that tells you "don't do that."
Anytime we come across a somewhat taxing modern game we throw in the towel and whine about not being able to complete a game without dying. Yet we look back at the original controller breaking games with awe and nostalgia
you know 3 of those are arcade games right? made hard for the sole purpose of squeezing more money out of you, and no other purpose, why would you want that again?
The game is not difficult, it only requires: Patience, Strategy, Perseverance and Optimism.
Once you defeat some tough-looking foes (this is the hardest part), you then start to trust in your skills and the desire for challenge becomes higher, and makes you keep playing. I'm happy it sold well, I want to see more of this.
