David Fincher Producing Halo 4 Launch Trailer, Debuting October 18th

Posted on Wednesday, October 10 @ 12:32:35 Eastern by Alex_Osborn

Remember the Halo 3 "Believe" trailer? I recall seeing it for the first time on the downstairs TV in my dorm lounge at college, barely able to contain my excitement. That was a good five years ago —has it really been that long?—and now, we're about to witness a similar marketing blitz by Microsoft in anticipation of Halo 4.

Since this is the Xbox's hallmark franchise, the Big M isn't skimping on the talent behind this launch trailer by any means. David Fincher, the director behind Fight Club and Se7en is jumping on as executive producer, with The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo visual effects lead, Tim Miller directing.

"Halo is one of the most iconic sci-fi universes, with a depth that allows for amazingly cinematic and emotionally riveting stories," Miller explained. "The chance to tell a story that explores never-before-seen facets of Master Chief's journey is an honor. Our goal is to deliver a blockbuster, Hollywood-quality trailer that raises the bar for the award-winning legacy of live-action Halo storytelling and gets fans stoked for the return of Master Chief."

The full two-minute video will make its debut on Jimmy Fallon's show on October 18th. Naturally, you'll be able to find the trailer on Halo Waypoint shortly thereafter. And as always, you'll be able to see it here on GameRevolution around that time as well.

Halo 4 launches on November 6th for the Xbox 360. Get hyped.

It seems like only yesterday Bungie had put the wraps on Halo 3. I shoulda known those moneywhores wouldn't let Master chief rest in piece.

What bothers me is getting all these dumb sequels on existing technology. Where is XBOX 720? I don't wanna buy new games on 360 cause I've seen all this system can do. Can't even run Battlefield 3 without texture pop in.
