David Hayter Asks Metal Gear Fans How They'd Feel If He Didn't Voice Snake

We know a new Metal Gear game is coming in some shape or form eventually, but would it be the same without voice actor David Hayter?
The iconic voice of Snake took to Twitterto basically troll the internet with the following posts:
Is this just another one of Hideo Kojima's cleverly orchestrated mind games? How would you feel if David Hayter didn't return to voice Snake? Let us know in the comments below.
I would be sad. It was his voice that made me endure the first metal gear among the stereotypes accents in the codecs. I was used to the average Japanese to English voice actors that Japanese studios always hired for all their voice over but David Hayter was really the one that stood out the most. Sure, it was an exaggerated voice, but it was also a unique voice never heard before. If he's gonna be replaced, it better be something more exceptional then Hayter's.
The glee I have when I see Hayter's name in the credits is part of the MGS experience. If he can't voice Snake, I'd rather they let us play as Boss or some new character then trying to keep him going. It just wouldn't be the same.
Agreed, it went all post puberty. Impressive you watched the show. I was 17 at the time rocking Cosmo quotes. 4-5 nick timeslot. Spongebob was also a great show.
as much as I love MGS, which is way to much, I would be absolutely heartbroken. Aside from smoking and having a cool eye patch the voice IS the character! I don't know if I could handle a new voice for Snake
Hayter should stay as Solid Snake. He has really made the character who he is over the years. He's been the voice of Snake for 15 years. If he wasn't in the next MGS title I would be devastated. Same as I am now that Michael Ironside isn't Sam Fisher anymore. I have grown up with these characters over the years and I don't want to lose Solid Snake!
About what? Michael Ironside not being Sam Fisher anymore? Ubisoft said a while back that they got a new voice actor to voice Fisher. I'm not all up for that. Michael Ironside has been Sam Fisher since the original Splinter Cell. Now I got a scary feeling that his voice will be extremely generic.
Hopefully it is not some kind of a feminine emo douche voice (ala Tidus in FFX). Whomever gets the gig should be required to smoke a pack of unfiltered cigarettes every day six months prior to recording. That should get him the the ballpark.
I would love to say I am an open minded enough person to at least give new snake voice guy a chance, but the truth of the matter is that I would simply lose my ****.
Considering I got mad when I heard the new Cole McGrath's voice in inFamous 2, a game I didn't care all that much about, I'd be extremely upset hearing someone else's voice in place of David Hayter's. I wouldn't go so far as to not play the game, but it would create a huge disconnect, and I'd constantly be thinking of how different the new Snake's voice is, which would really throw me out of the story.
HE IS SOLID/NAKED SNAKE! Even a few months ago when they said that they are gonna make a movie about MG, my first thought was..."They need to have David Hayter involved somehow....I cant imagine anybody that looks JUST like SOLID Snake but not Sound like Solid Snake." Thats my thought. Cant imagine playing as Solid/Naked Snake and not hearing David Hayter.
To be honest i hate Metal Gear and could never get on board with it. I can see why people like it to a degree but its not for me. That being said, i can understand how people would feel if Hayter was not voicing Snake. Its probably the same thing i felt as a Hitman Fan when they said Bateson was not going to be Agent 47,luckily he did come back. These actors pretty much defined the characters the fans care about so much, so of course the fans are going to be upset if they are not voiced by them.

The sting is 30x worse in anime. I'll never watch One Piece again.
