Destination PlayStation 2013 Announced, Prepare For Huge Announcements

Posted on Sunday, December 30 @ 16:39:45 Eastern by Jonathan_Leack

PlayStation is already preparing a few punches for 2013.

Sony has announced that retailer-only event Destination PlayStation will be returning for 2013. While in the past announcements such as LittleBigPlanet Karting were revealed behind closed doors at the event, they have ended up being leaked by attendees who couldn't restrain their excitement.

In other words, prepare for some big news one way or another. Maybe we'll find out about another big PlayStation 3 exclusive to look forward to, or if we're lucky—extremely lucky—the next PlayStation will finally make a presence.

The event is invite-only and will take place from February 25th to the 28th in Scottsdale, Arizona. There will be dozens of meetings, discussions, and several third-party publishers present, so we're bound to find useful news one way or another.

While I'm dying for some news on Sony's next-gen plans, I'm not getting my hopes up. An announcement that big will likely be saved for E3. As far as software goes... I'm willing to bet that everything still unannounced is in the works for the PS4, so we'll have to wait on that as well.

    Ya never know though...

Well, there's been a long build-up so I hope it climaxes with a huge ejection of excitement.

Let's hope Sony doesn't set the PS4 price point at $600 freaking dollar again. I think they may have learned their lesson.

They have learned their lesson, which is why the PS4 is going to retail for $700.

Who cares about PS4 (or PS3)? Go out and buy a PC gaming rig.
