DICE Entertains Discussion Of Battlefield 3 Dinosaur DLC

Posted on Thursday, June 14 @ 10:24:39 Eastern by Jonathan_Leack

Sometimes the best ideas are the craziest ones, and having dinosaurs in Battlefield 3 is a prime example. Prior to the game's release forums were ablaze around the net discussing how cool it would be to add some massive terrestrial vertebrates to the mix. But the movement never got traction. Well, until now.

A Twitter post was made by Battlefield 3's Community Manager in response to a fan question regarding dinosaur DLC, and he certainly engaged the fanbase. The Tweet states:

@zamielk No, at this time there is no word on a dinosaur DLC. Would you like one? And if so, would it be humans vs. dinosaurs? ^KB

This obviously prompted an explosion on the net with thousands of fans sharing both their excitement and ideas. It didn't take long for the Community Manager to see one of the discussion threads on Reddit, and the following post was the result:
Glad to see the enthusiasm.

Really, though, if this is something you guys want the best way to go about it is to try to get #BF3Dinos off the ground on Twitter.

If that shit trends it's pretty hard to ignore.
The only thing standing in the way of Battlefield and dinosaurs are two DLC packs that are scheduled to release this year. Realistically, if there's enough feedback to prompt development of something so radical it won't be out until next year, but that's better than nothing.

Stay tuned for a confirmation of Tyrannosaurus Warfare Pack—or whatever it'll be called—and until then be sure to share your feedback, DICE appears to be listening to it.

haha that would be awesome! i say add the dinos as a third team and play in the third person view. or have it so that random players from both teams are chosen to be changed to the dino team midgame and let them wreak havoc on both teams.

T-rex vs uranium tank shell? Seems fun if you are not the T-rex. I could see quick raptors taking out ground troops but tanks and jets remind me of Avatar. The Navi did not fare well.

The Navi didn't fare well because the wildlife didn't help until they were dead, lol.

It was a worldwide trending topic, and there will probably be a lot of butthurt if this isn't made into a real thing.

You got a tank? We got Stegosaurus and Ankylosaurus. You got a chopper? Say hello to Pterodactyl and Quetzalcoatlus Northropi (he could walk on 4 legs and was taller than a giraffe). Nice infantry you got there. Velociraptor, Tyrannosaurus Rex, and Triceratops will be glad to meet them. Has anyone not dreamed of this kind of battle as a kid?
