After all these years, and growing up with Windows 3.1, I have seen an entire evolution of computers and software. Touch screens and large resolutions were a pipe dream just 15 years ago. Now it's the norm. Going from a Packard Bell (yes, before HP) that couldn't run 3D Ultra Mini...

Did Nintendo Tease Four New Super Smash Bros. Characters Yesterday?

Posted on Wednesday, April 9 @ 13:00:00 PST by

Following yesterday's lengthy and detail-laden Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS Nintendo Direct presentation featuring director Masahiro Sakurai, Nintendo marketer JC Rodrigo tweeted that fans may have missed a few details.

Are those details actually staring us in the face? That's the claim that some are making as four trophy spotlights featuring collectable figures from four different Nintendo franchises seemed to stick out like sore thumbs. Leave it to the Internet to get with the speculation.

Here's one person's guess at what the Nintendo Direct could have been hiding. The claim is that the four trophies (featuring Tiki of Fire Emblem, Fi of The Legend of Zelda, Pseudo Palutena of Kid Icarus, and King Kihunter of Metroid) actually correlate with four new Smash Bros. fighters yet to be revealed.

I'd love to see Chrom or Lucina from Fire Emblem: Awakening join the fray, especially as the title has a much bigger following than the franchise did when Nintendo added Fire Emblem characters to Super Smash Bros. Melee. I'd also like to see how a playable Ridley fighter would fare against Nintendo's fighting crew.
