Microsoft's newest console has lots of different features, but video games might hold the device back from the software giant's true intentions.

DLC Announced For Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance

Posted on Monday, June 18 @ 09:54:18 Eastern by Keri_Honea

The only thing I love more than watching the spell-checker freak out over the non-existent word, "Revengeance," is reading about upcoming DLC for a game that isn't on store shelves yet. Today I got a double-helping of pleasure, as Kojima Productions announced a post-launch DLC for Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance.

Yuji Korekado, producer for Kojima Productions, announced that the studio and Platinum Games are creating DLC content that "will allow you to play maybe as a different character or some new missions."

Come on, Korekado-san...how vague can you get? You should have just said, "We have DLC planned, but I cannot comment on what it will entail." He did, however, not comment on the price or a release date for the DLC.

Revengeance is currently slated for a vague early 2013 release for the Xbox 360 and PS3.

It's been so long that now i'm kind of over this whole game and may just wait for the $20 bin when it comes out... is that bad?

Yes, it is bad, it's better to wait for the GotY-ish edition with all the DLC to hit $20 and buy that.

Should we expect a Revengiest DLC as well, then?

I find this game just stupid. It's a black mark on the Metal Gear series as a whole. Raiden got an ending in MGS4. Let's seriously injure him and give him another cyborg body and mke a flinsy excuse for him to slaughter a whole bunch of bad guys. It's stupid and idiotic and completely unnecessary, not just for the series, but the Raiden character as well.

Every game in the series is unnecessary , in fact every game in existence is unnecessary.

If anything, it makes perfect sense for this game to exist, if raiden was a badass before, what makes you think hes not gonna kick 10 times more ass now that he has a child to protect?

Not to mention that being a soldier is the only thing hes ever really known, so again it makes perfect sense that he would keep fighting after MGS4, sounds like your just butthurt that this isnt traditional MG and is its own unique take with a different character.

I'm not as you say "butthurt". Yes, all games are unnecessary, my bad. I liked all the psp titles which were different takes on the series. The Acid adding a card system and portable ops and peacewalker adding the recruitment and other options. I'm all for different takes on the series and it's characters, but the whole idea of giving him another cyborg body after he just got rid of the other makes little sense to me. Platinum even said he wasn't fighting after MGS4, he's doing bodyguard work and training soldiers, not actively fighting. So their plan is to seriously injure him again to get another cyborg body just so he can join a pmc to earn a living for his wife and child. So in order to protect his wife and child, he has to get another cyborg body, then join pmc that's has a rival pmc with a guy in a cyborg suit? I just think they missed the mark completely. I was against this game when Kojima annouced Kojima Productions was working on it. The only thing that made it somewhat palettable was the fact it would take place between MGS2 and MGS. I happened to see the article and voice my opinion of the game. So just because I find this stupid and not a traditional Metal Gear, I'm "butthurt". Ok. You have your opinion, I have mine.
