If you're like me, you're easily swayed by fancy trailers with techno music and explosions and sh**. F*** YEAH! BLOW STUFF UP! Shot those guys! YESYESYES!

See what I mean? Man, modern game marketing has a bead on what I wanna see! Why don't we take a look at some actual gameplay before we pass judgement? Starbreeze and EA have done just that by releasing a 10 minute developer-led walkthrough of gameplay in 2012's Syndicate reboot. Let's watch:

The depressing vibe is still there, but I don't see any strategy.

It's a FPS now not an RTS game.

So you aren't really fighting corporations for domination, you're just running through a narrow environment shooting dumb enemies? Eh

Personally this isn’t my kind of game (the FPS or the RTS version), but it does look to have a couple of twists that remind me a little of DE:HR. Deus Ex has stealth which makes it my kind of game, but this is a shooter through and through with a couple of “brain bombs” thrown in for good measure. I’ll pass, thank you very much.

This gameplay reminds me of SYSTEM SHOCK. It looks pretty good and violent, but, I don't want another closed world game with linear paths.
