Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D Swings Its Way To 3DS Later This Year

Posted on Thursday, February 14 @ 06:42:07 Eastern by Alex_Osborn

During this morning's Nintendo Direct, the Big N announced Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D for the Nintendo 3DS.

Apparently, this will be merely a 3D-enabled port of the Wii release and not an entirely new title altogether. Aw, shucks! As such, you can expect it to look a lot like the Retro Studios-developed title for the Wii, just without those pesky motion controls. The title is currently expected to release sometime later this year.

Be sure to stay tuned to GameRevolution for additional updates.

Great question. If only Mr. Iwata provided us with a few additional details...

I hope not... I want them to be working on a Wii U game (I am hoping Zelda. Retro needs Zelda and Zelda needs Retro)

I've read that it's going to be basically the same as the wii game but without motion controls. If so then it will be an amazing game.

I never played the Wii Version though it did look cool. Might be yet another great reason to own a 3DS.

I still wish we would have gotten DK64 3D when they had been doing those N64 Ports. That was my first N64 game(along with a jungle green N64) and i would have loved to see it come back.
