Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze Not Native 1080p

Retro Studios' upcoming kong-centric 2D platformer will not run in a native 1080p resolution. Instead, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze will run in 720p upscaled to 1080p.

GameXplain spoke with Nintendo about the game's resolution and broke the news on Twitter
 

With the game being a side-scrolling platformer, many gamers have been hoping it would run at native 1080p because of its rather simplistic game design. That said, our own Daniel Bischoff got some hands-on time with the game and found it to be quite gorgeous.
