Doom 3 BFG Edition Release Date Announced

Posted on Tuesday, June 19 @ 08:33:06 Eastern by Keri_Honea

Bethesda announced this morning that the Doom 3 BFG Edition will release on October 16th, thereby lifting the suspense and jamming yet another game into this busy October/November release season. It will sell for $29.99 on the PC and $39.99 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Europe will receive said version on October 19th.

The BFG Edition includes remastered versions of Doom 3, the Resurrection of Evil addition, a new mission called The Lost Mission, the original Doom, and Doom 2. The remastered Doom 3 includes 3D optimization, 5.1 surround sound, improved lighting effects, a new checkpoint system, and (most importantly) Achievements/Trophies.

I am so sorely tempted to pick this up for the PC. I don't have much time to play it right now, but the college nostalgia of Doom 2 beckons.
