LATEST FEATURES Being A Console Is Actually Xbox One's Worst Asset
Microsoft's newest console has lots of different features, but video games might hold the device back from the software giant's true intentions.

DotA 2 Debuts at gamescom via Tournament, Much Like A Certain '80s Movie

Posted on Thursday, August 18 @ 16:08:24 Eastern by Josh_Laddin
If you've been into the original DotA, Heroes of Newerth, or League of Legends, then you've probably been following DotA 2. So you're also probably aware that DotA 2's gameplay was officially unveiled to the world at gamescom on Wednesday via a 16-team tournament featuring the best DotA players in the world. You know what that reminds me of?

Just like everyone who gathered around a giant two-story screen to see an autistic kid own everyone else in Super Mario Bros. 3 with a warp whistle, DotA fans the world over tuned into the livestream to get their first taste of DotA 2, straight from the pros. Well, almost. Unlike the Wizard kid, these pros have had access to the game for a month so they could be familiar with the nuances of the remake before taking the world stage.

If you want to see the first round of tournament matches for yourself, they're all available to watch on the official DotA 2 site. There will be more matches every day until the tournament's completion on Sunday, August 21. I really hope that all the pros are playing it with one of these:

I'll take any excuse to post this picture.

This number is by no means accurate but I think I heard them say there was something like 4mil viewers worldwide at one point during the live stream... pretty impressive imo

"Its the power glove." As he's saying it all smooth to impress the little girl. Love that movie but that kid was a douche! True story
