DotA 2 Tournament Stream Interrupted by Power Outage, Dastardly Water Bottle

Posted on Friday, August 19 @ 16:45:41 Eastern by Josh_Laddin
As I mentioned yesterday, the big DotA 2 tournament is drawing a whole shitload of attention, both at gamescom and across the internets. Those same fans tuning in for today's matches got a rude surprise, as the show floor in Cologne, Germany lost power and interrupted the broadcast. According to reports, a lowly water bottle spilled its precious cargo onto an electrical outlet and knocked the power out, proving that even the best-laid plans can be foiled by the dumbest things.

Thankfully the match itself wasn't affected by the outage, but all the DotA fans who wanted to see the tournament play out live had to settle for the replay (which, along with all the others, is still available on the official DotA 2 site).
