Drop a Dime on Minecraft for Android

Posted on Tuesday, December 6 @ 09:51:07 Eastern by

I've never touched Minecraft. Forgive me, but I don't get it. But today, I just bought, paid for, and downloaded it on my Verizon Droid 3. Why? Because it's only fucking 10 cents.

To celebrate the Android Market hitting 10 billion downloads a number of Android's best-selling apps and games are available for a dime. Minecraft, Fieldrunners HD, and Gameloft's Asphalt 6: Adrenaline HD are among today's games and apps.

Starting today, for 10 days, different apps and games will be available for 10 cents. The games and apps will change each day, so grab them now.

I would love to get all those apps, but don't want to share mi credit card info with the Android Market, or Steam, or really anywhere I haven't already because of fear of more hacker attacks.

"I've never touched Minecraft. Forgive me, but I don't get it."

Naturally you won't get it, if you've never touched it. I didn't get it either till I saw my wife playing with it and wanted to try for myself. It's digital Lego and you never run out of pieces. Sometimes you have to go hunting for them though, they are lost somewhere in the pile. But then you find the piece you wanted, and you are satisfied.

If you really want the best Minecraft experience and to discover why everyone seems to like it so much, I suggest this:

Setup a server for yourself using one of your desktops, it's very easy to do. Setup your server so you're on survival mode (as opposed to creative mode) on normal difficulty. Next, get yourself, and possibly everyone in the office to go ahead and sign into it (Or maybe open it to the GR public?). The best times will be when you are playing with like 4 or 5 people, all building your own projects in the same area, and just watching as a city or whatever you want starts to take shape before your eyes.

And then you can give us a Minecraft review. =D
