EA Closes BioWare San Francisco

Posted on Tuesday, March 5 @ 08:42:23 Eastern by Keri_Honea

An unidentified source has told GamesRadar that BioWare San Francisco, formerly known as EA2D, has been closed and its 25 to 30 employees have been let go. The studio was responsible for creating Dragon Age: Legends for Facebook and the browser-based Mirror's Edge 2D.

According to this source, EA decided to shut down the studio because it was "too expensive to do mobile development in Redwood Shores, CA."

As of the time of this report, EA has not commented on this studio closure.

Every single day now a game studio is closing. Getting pretty scary.
