LATEST FEATURES Being A Console Is Actually Xbox One's Worst Asset
Microsoft's newest console has lots of different features, but video games might hold the device back from the software giant's true intentions.

Elder Scrolls Online Announced

Posted on Thursday, May 3 @ 10:20:36 Eastern by Keri_Honea

With their monthly magazine cover revelation, Game Informer announced a new MMORPG releasing in 2013: The Elder Scrolls Online. Shortly thereafter, Bethesda confirmed the news on their blog

TESO is set one thousand years before Skyrim, during the time when Prince Molag Bal tries to absorb Tamriel into his demonic realm. Zenimax Online studios is in charge of development, with MMO veteran Matt Firor of Dark Age of Camelot fame at the helm as game director. More trailers and screenshots should appear tomorrow, and we can expect plenty of news surface at E3.

The Online megalopolis will arrive in the ever vague 2013 for PC and Mac only.

If you own pets give them away or they will starve to death and wallow in their own filth forever ignored.

Everyone's trying to get a slice of that WoW pie now. I would not be surprised if this ends up exactly like The Old Republic, a clone cash-in.

Would games be instanced? How about items being picked up/stolen? Are NPC's perma-dead?

I would think the answers would have to be Yes. Yes. Yes. to be an Elder scrolls game. I would think the answers would have to be Yes. No. No. to be an MMO. I know no one here knows, but this news makes my head hurt.

This is terrible news for my social life. I'm hoping to see them do the entire world of Tamriel and not just the individual kingdoms that they've done so far.

That would be boss, but Im pretty sure we just would running around stealing **** all the time. And I would hide on roofs arrowing everyone I could. Very curious how they plan to implement many of the best elements into a multiplayer game. I wouldnt have a house but a cave that you would have to come clear out.

NO TOTAL WAY BRAH! Its entrance is a portal that only I can summon so you can't pick pocket a key. It exists in another realm to which you aren't allowed so you can't follow me through. So ya, didn't see that coming did ya?

It would be interesting to see where they go with this. I mean, they really can't have people go and pick pocket other players or kill NPCs, but we might see a game that has a huge world for people to explore.

I don't see this working very well. The problem is that Elder Scrolls has quirky combat. I hope it's great but I'm not betting on it.

Guild Wars 2 sounds much better.

...and from the little bit of information released so far it sounds like a blatant WoW clone with an Elder Scrolls skin. My level of enthusiasm as gone from a 10 to a 2.

This, except mine went from over 9000 to -1. I'm extremely disappointed. 3rd person, hotbars, cooldowns....complete bullshit. There better not be a sub for this because I think it'll flop worse than SWTOR
