English Trailer of Kingdom Hearts 3D: 10 Minutes of 3DS Love

Posted on Tuesday, May 15 @ 00:25:04 Eastern by Heath_Hindman

Square Enix has whipped up a friggin' huge trailer for Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance. From the sounds of the video as it played while I wrote this update and found that Gaston image, series fans have something to look forward to with this one. I played the game at last year's Tokyo Game Show, expecting my eyes to roll so hard I could see into my own skull, but I really enjoyed my time in both versions of the demo. This seems to be one of the good Kingdom Hearts portables (like Birth by Sleep) instead of one of the lame ones (like 358/2 Days and Re: Coded).

Here's the video:

Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance was released in Japan this past March, while its worldwide debut is expected this July.

Still l though, I love the three musketeer and tron legacy parts. And I glee when Mickey ask if he's ever gonna be part of the team... and kairi answers "You will be!" Kingdom heart 3 foreshadow?

While I'm happy that the demo left a good impression, I can't help but feel irritated at how much of the Kingdom Hearts 3's buildup comes from disparate handheld entries. Now having owned the lesser DS entries I can't say I wasn't able to get in on some of it, but it makes me concerned,

I don't own a PSP or a 3DS so I've missed out on Birth by Sleep, and will likely miss Dream Drop Distance as well, so I have the nagging sense that there's going to be some parts of KH 3 that I won't have much context for. If I hadn't played Chain of Memories prior to KH 2, the opening would have thrown me for a loop.
