Polish developer People Can Fly has just been purchased by Epic Games. This shouldn't come as too much of a surprise, considering the studio is currently working on theGears of WarprequelJudgmentand is also the team behind the smart-mouthed shooterBulletstorm.

This news comes coupled with the announcement that a few key members from Epic Games and People Can Fly have left the Gears of War Judgmentteam. Despite being one of the individuals who left, creative director Adrian Chmielarz spoke highly of the project, saying:“Gears fans, you’re going to love Judgment. It’s in great hands. And don’t worry, you’ll hear about my plans soon enough.”

Epic's Mark Rein spoke to The Verge about the acquisition of People Can Fly, alluding to the fact that the move has been long overdue. "We doubled down on People Can Fly. It was something we always hoped to do.”
