European Retailers Out Metal Gear Solid 4 25th Anniversary Edition

Posted on Wednesday, November 7 @ 11:19:51 Eastern by Alex_Osborn
This year marks the 25th anniversary of Metal Gear and series creator Hideo Kojima has already celebrated the occasion by debuting Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes as well as announcing a Metal Gear movie. It looks like the festivities aren't ending there though, as online retailers Zavi and ShopTo have listed a 25th anniversary edition of Metal Gear Solid 4.

Here's what the sleek new box art allegedly looks like:

Japan saw a re-release of the game not too long ago, so news that Europe (and possibly North America) will be getting similar treatment certainly sounds reasonable. Both sites claim that the title will release on November 30th, so we'll likely hear official confirmation from Konami very soon.

Let us know whether or not a re-release of Metal Gear Solid 4 interests you in the comments below.

I spent so many hours in MGO. It was far from perfect (Konami ID's... yuck) but had quite a lot of charm.

Yeah don't get me wrong, not the greatest online experience, but damn I love choking people out. Just turn the servers back on at launch for a couple months. I think the fact I can't play online is the only reason I want to hahaha

Meh. It would have to be pretty killer for me to buy something that's still in my library.

Still have my copy, so nah. Unless they make it a sweet subsistence/substance-esque package.

I have the special edition w/the bluray extra features disc, so it'd have to be a subsistence type package to get me to buy it. I've got 2 copies of the other MGS games so I might just wait til it comes down in price, just to keep up the trend.

What kind of release would this be without online mode these days? Oh come on.
