Ex-Rare Devs Planning New Banjo Game

Posted on Thursday, September 27 @ 08:17:53 Eastern by Alex_Osborn

It's no secret that developer Rare is not the same studio it once was. After being acquired by Microsoft, a number of the team's major members left, ushering in a new group of minds that Microsoft has steered toward creating Xbox Live avatars and Kinect Sports titles.

And just as many of us have begun to heal from the painful process of accepting the fact that we'll never see another title from the Rare of yesteryear, a Twitter account pops up reigniting our hopes. The account, called Mingy Jongo, has allegedly been created by ex-Rare employees who wish to resurrect the Banjo Kazooie franchise.

Their profile description reads: "Let's make the spiritual successor to Banjo-Tooie! Core members of the original team are ready to go. All we need is your support. So join us today!"

Apparently, they're just testing the waters to see if there's enough interest. So if a new Banjo title has you giddy with excitement, be sure to head over to their page and show your support.

I like how they're asking people to pledge $10, but there's no way for someone to make a payment, yet.
