E3: PC or rather about the lack of it

E3 2013 has been very silent for me. There's tons of media, but most of it buzzes past my ears without them catching the important keyword that my ears are fine tuned to receive: "PC" or "Personal Computer". Microsoft, Sony, EA and Ubisoft have all shown their cards...

Fallout: New Vegas Walks a "Lonesome Road" a Little Later

Posted on Wednesday, August 10 @ 11:55:57 Eastern by

When Bethesda announced that a triplet of DLC was planned for Fallout: New Vegas, they detailed release windows for each pack. Honest Hearts made its launch in May while Old World Blues also landed at the correct time in July. Lonesome Road, however, was planned for July as well. Is it July?

No. It's f***ing August. That's what I'm here for. Throw those calendars away, you've got GameRevolution.

The screenshot above was let loose but little other information is known about when the DLC will launch. Senior Producer Jason Bergman has informed wastelanders via forum post that:

We just wanted to drop in here and let you know that due to circumstances beyond our control, Lonesome Road won't be out this month. We don't have an exact date yet, but we're working to get it out as quickly as possible. We'll be announcing a final date, along with a couple of other interesting FNV-related items in the near future.

As for "other interesting FNV-related items", I'm guessing we're talking about a "Game of the Year" type pack for those of you still sitting on the fence California/Nevada border.

No, they're DLCs that you need to complete before you beat the main game.

After you finish the main story you can keep playing, but from a point before you started the final storyline quest. So you can and can't play after you beat the game. I'm playing through the game again, checking out stuff I missed the first two times through and doing things differently during the main story. So far I have Honest Hearts and Dead money, and I haven't even touched them yet, there's just so much to do do in the main game it's hard to take a ten hour break and head off to some other area. I really only bought them when I did for the increase in level cap. It seemed silly to keep questing and killing and not get EXP for it.

Currently, no. I'm pretty sure they've also said they don't plan on doing that for New Vegas anyways.

People whined and moaned about Dead Money, but it was by far the best that either of the new wave fallout games received.

Ah... that's lame. I'm really pumped to play that after going through the other 3 DLCs back to back. And for the record I like Dead Money a lot, sadly I only played it just now and didn't review it. I recommend it.

I never had any technical issues with Fallout 3 until I got Broken Steel (the only DLC I got for that game), which just loved crashing the game every half hour on me. Considering the condition New Vegas is and has been in, I've been holding off on DLC because of fear more than anything else.

I've "beaten" the game three times now, with each playthrough averaging about 25-30 hours. The quest lines that force you to play the game multiple times to experience each are what still have me coming back for it. I'm currently working on "Render Unto Caesar." I have it borrowed from a friend, but I'll definitely be picking up the GotY version with all the DLC included in it once it drops.

I still haven't played all the DLC for Fallout 3 either, and I can't find all 100 of those damn steel ingots in The Pitt. I need to pick up the GotY edition of that too for the rest of the DLC.

    Ok, I'm done rambling now.

I feel your pain about the steel ingots. I found 99 of them, and after searching for 5 hours without finding anything, I finally caved in and found a walkthrough and found out that the ingot I couldn't find was in plain view but since Fallout loves having everything the same color, I had missed it everytime because it didn't look like an ingot. I still haven't finished Mothership Zeta, and I'm not even onto "Render Unto Caesar", I just got on the strip 5 hours of playtime back. There's that many sidequests and little caves to explore.

Is area 51 part of that game? Don’t call out the coppers to frag me. Last time, I promise. ;-)

@xxmrcyanidexx: Yeah, I think the most I got was like 93 or 94 maybe and just said "f*** it" to the rest.

@tinymhg: Unless it was added in one of the recent DLC packs, no. It really, really, REALLY needs to be though. There's so much frakking potential for something awesome to happen there in the Fallout universe. I could see it as being strongly involved with the Brotherhood of Steel. There really wasn't much representing going on for them in the main game.

"Circumstances beyond our control" - Is that code for Verizon customer service is on strike and their interwebs is down? I think it is.
