REVIEWSGRiD 2 Review
Grid 2 surprised me. I was going through the motions, getting used to the cars and their handling, when suddenly something happened. I started having fun.

Undead Lab's zombie-infested action title has finally hit XBLA. Is it worth a few of your precious Microsoft Points, or should you whack it over the head with a two-by-four and continue on your merry way?

Ubisoft Annecy's persistent push to bring stabby multiplayer to the masses sees them mixing things up and throwing curve balls at weathered fans like me.
E3 2013 has been very silent for me. There's tons of media, but most of it buzzes past my ears without them catching the important keyword that my ears are fine tuned to receive: "PC" or "Personal Computer". Microsoft, Sony, EA and Ubisoft have all shown their cards...

Fans Remake Final Fantasy VII Using Unreal Engine
Posted on Monday, December 5 @ 08:50:15 Eastern by Anthony Severino
Square Enix says that a Final Fantasy VII remake would take too long and with too many resources. Fans, using hardly any resources, gave up on waiting and made it themselves.
Right now there's just a demo, which you can see the footage of below. It's by no means polished, but hey, it's better than what Square Enix is giving us. You can download the demo for yourself to check it out. Do you remember Tifa's boobs being so big?
That's pretty ambitious but I doubt they'll get far. I mean, there were fans that made a 3D remake of Chrono Trigger but they got slapped with a cease and desist letter from Square-Enix
The characters and their animations are just taken from other games, so I'm sure that didn't take much effort, but the background scenery had to be created from scratch. Unfortunately one of the most important elements in the overall feel of a game is the sound, which certainly is not updated in this video, so the game still has the aged feel to it. I would figure something that like would be the first thing to go when doing a remake for the HD generation.
It seems kind of silly when you have capcom pumping out every type of super/special/uber remake bundle that square wouldn't take a step back from shitty FF's to go back to debateably one of their best FF. They keep talking about taking losses and working on the next big thing "Innovation" is key. The way's in which this could be profitable is silly, you have products that are already overstocked, revitalize the brand, and dlc character skins, missions, exp bundles, etc....Price the game between $30-$40 and DLC from $.99 - $4.99 and a killing could be made.
Well the headline is a bit misleading, I thought the whole game was already remaked or in the process of being done, but I've read the website and I quote:
"FFVII REMAKE has been created for two main reasons: to learn how to create a videogame and to pay tribute to one of the best RPGs ever created, which most of us love and admire. The idea is to show its 2D world in 3D in a short demo, trying to keep it as accurate and respectul as possible to the original."
To me, that means they are not planning to remake the whole game. (sad face)
I just got a response from an email I sent to Alex Notario (one of the guys who made the remake). As I suspected, Spanish-speaking guys were behind this, and in summary, what he told me was that they spent almost 7 months doing this demo, and the whole game would take years, decades perhaps were they willing to do it, which they aren't.
So the only FFVII 3D we will see from this guys is this demo. It's still remarkable though.
This was the 1st game of the series I played all the way thru from start to finish and all the side quests. Its the reason I bought a damn PS and for the 1st time owned 2 consoles at the same time. Got me a T-shirt for preordering it from ToysRUs. The only game I ever preordered as well.
"...a Final Fantasy VII remake would take too long and with too many resources." Translates to "...Sorry, we spent all our money on crap. Now we have nothing left to deliver a definite gaming blockbuster"
Through superior technology, hundreds of man hours, and sheer determination, they have managed to recreate the first 8 seconds of one of the greatest games of all time. So they could finally find out what it would be like if Cloud jumped over those crates.
There is a legit petition with at least 100k signatures if people really want a final fantasy 7 remake or any remake in the final fantasy series people will have to demand it in forms of not buying their crap until they decide to deliver what we want and or more organized petitions/gaming communities that have clout basically the more people we can gather together in an organized fashion the higher the chances of square doing what we want

This doesn't look like Final Fantasy 8's intro at all. No gunswords, no petals in the wind, no wait
*redoes the counting*
FF6? Wow, Terra looks good as a brunette. Hold on, that can't be right.
*counts again*
So, it took a couple of modders and a few months to make Final Fantasy 14 look tolerable.
