Far Cry 3 Trailer Gets Drunk, Murdered, Stranded
Posted on Wednesday, February 15 @ 11:12:33 Eastern by Daniel Bischoff
Ubisoft's trailer tease didn't exactly pan out as planned, thanks to a leaked version of the trailer originating from the German territory. That means we get to see it now!!
Let's watch together!
Wow... that was fucked up. We'll get the full Far Cry 3 experience on September 7th, 2012 on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
I've been completely lost with the Far Cry series for a few years now. I have the original for PC, and it's great. Then Ubisoft tries to make various alternate versions and spinoffs, and for the most part they range from okay (like, a port to Xbox) or downright terrible (Vengeance, for Wii). Then Far Cry 2 comes out, and as far as I know, has absolutely no connection to the first game aside from a tropic setting and the name. And I have even less of a clue what's going on now, except a really bad island trip (okay, getting more like the first game sorta).
That said, if those are in-game graphics in that trailer, then I'm impressed. But I kinda have a hunch it isn't.
Not in game, but the actual gameplay does look pretty ****ing fantastic.
I think the name means you're getting a shooter in a lush locale, but from what I can tell this one is fresh (off the boat) and separate from all other Far Cry games.
I was actually quite disappointed with the second one. I liked the idea of having an open world, basically free to do whatever missions you wanted, but I also like a developing story line. Granted, I didn't play the second one long enough to even see where it was going but that's because I didn't like the way it played. I liked FarCry's linear story line with the missions setup for you to do them multiple ways. The game sucked me in and kept me playing all the way through. FarCry 2 failed to do that. I hope FarCry 3 is more like the first one.
And you're right, FarCry 2 didn't seem to have anything to do with the first one.
