Far Cry 3's High Tides DLC Coming Exclusively To PS3

In case you've been living under a rock, Far Cry 3 launches today and its actually really good. But before you run out to your favorite video game retailer, you may want to carefully consider which version you pick up.

If you have a PlayStation 3, you've got exclusive DLC to look forward to. Ubisoft announced today that the upcoming High Tides expansion will be coming only to Sony's console next month. The add-on brings two new co-op missions to the experience.

According to co-op campaign writer Meghan Watt:

High Tides will take place where the original six co-op chapters left off. These are the gang’s final moments, and we’re really challenging ourselves to go all-out. We’ve got new missions, tougher fights, bigger competitions, some great up-close time with your favorite characters, and explosive moments unlike anything you’ve seen before.

It's clear that Ubisoft has been favoring Sony over Microsoft lately. Not only is the Far Cry DLC evidence to this fact, but also the exclusive Benedict Arnold content that was included in the PS3 version of Assassin's Creed III. Are things finally beginning to shift in Sony's favor?

    Thinking about picking this game up for sure, but not on PS3. If I get this, it'll be on PC. Exclusive DLC won't convince me to get the inferior version of the game. I prefer better resolutions, better framerates, and mods.

    The PC would clearly be the superior version...theres only so much 256MB of RAM can do these days :)

    This. The "definitive Far Cry 3 experience" can't even hit 30 frames per second at the best of times.

    Is it free? I refuse to buy the end of a six mission (now eight) story.

    "If you want the definitive Far Cry 3 experience, you may want to consider picking up the PlayStation 3 version."

    Still the PC version.
