Federal Investigation Against 38 Studios Dropped

Posted on Tuesday, October 2 @ 12:35:50 Eastern by Keri_Honea

Finally, the remains of 38 Studios can put one more thing behind them: the federal investigation for bank fraud. The US Attorney's office has officially closed the investigation and further said that they will bring new charges against the studio from their findings.

On the one hand, this is great, great news for entity. However, they aren't completely out of the woods yet. The Rhode Island State Police are still conducting their investigation to see if the studio violated any state laws during their brief existence in Rhode Island.

Hopefully no charges will be brought on this account either, as the developer is still in hot water after defaulting on their $75 million loan from the state. The Associated Press currently estimates that with interest, Rhode Island is owed over $100 million.

"...and further said that they will bring new charges against the studio from their findings." Is that a mistake? That sentence makes it seem that the Feds are going to file charges, which goes against the overall tone of the post.
