Final Fantasy XV Likely Not Releasing Before March 2015

Posted on Monday, May 12 @ 13:00:00 PST by Alex_Osborn

The next entry in Square Enix's super popular role-playing franchise probably won't hit store shelves until late next year or possibly even 2016, if the publisher's financial forecast is any indication.

According to research analyst David Gibson, based on Square's yearly forecast, it looks like Final Fantasy XV won't be out before March of next year. "Square Enix forecast of game units falling to 12m implies no FF15 in the year ending Mar 2015," he posted on Twitter.

Final Fantasy Versus XIII, which has since been re-branded FFXV, was announced back in 2006, so there's no doubt a lot of time and money has been poured into the development of this game. Whenever it does finally come out, here's to hoping it was worth Square's investment.
