First Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag Trailer Surfaces

Only days ago this year's rendition of the Assassin's Creed was announced. Titled Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, it will be set in a new theme similar to the last title of the series, but this time with swashbucklin' pirates.

The first trailer for Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag has been released leaked, and although no gameplay footage is shown, it gives a taste of what the marriage of the series and its new setting will be like. In many ways it looks similar to Assassin's Creed III, but pirates have always been cooler than red coats. As you might suspect, there will be plenty of beards and treasure, while ship combat will make a return with presumably more functionality.

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag is set to release on consoles—yes, even PlayStation 4—this October 29th.

    If this is on the ps 4 totally worth buying at release, but if not. I'll just slowly churn out the others first. Still on brotherhood, got a long ways to go

    I can not freaking wait for this game. I have seen screenshots that got leaked and it looks awesome. The Caribbean setting on the ocean, port towns, tropical jungles. I think the High Pirate Age is going to be a great setting for an AC game.

    Why? Is it just because of pirates or because you're playing ACIII right now and you see how good the Naval mechanics can be with a bit more depth?

    Both. The naval combat in 3 is easily the best thing in the game, so a game where you play as a pirate with half of the game like that? Uh, yes please.

    Also, that trailer is top notch. That is what is making me hype.

    So pretty much it's AC but with a ship throughout the whole game and pirates? Why didn't they do this before!?!

    I have never been inclined to play these games but this looks pretty good. I'm hoping for an all new protagonist and story so I don't need to play catch up.

    This will be great. For some reason all the AC games are just damn good, I guess Ubisoft strike a perfect balance. I'm going to be pre-ordering this.
