Forget GTAV, Says Saints Row: The Third

Posted on Wednesday, November 2 @ 09:34:42 Eastern by

Rivalry between publishers, especially when their games draw many similarities, can lead to an intense battle of words and other tactics.

Only weeks before the release of Saints Row: The Third, Rockstar Games drops a bunker buster on THQ in the form of a GTAV trailer. So how does Saints Row retaliate?

By buying ad space on Google telling people to "Forget Grand Theft Auto", of course. When anyone searches Google for Grand Theft Auto, this Saints Row ad will show.

Clever marketing? Pure genius. Hilarious? Comedic gold. Will the GTAV announcement kill some of the Saints Row hype? We'll see when Saints Row: The Third launches on November 15th.

Who the searches Grand Theft Auto instead of just GTA anyway?
    (Except THQ's employees, of course)
