LATEST FEATURES Being A Console Is Actually Xbox One's Worst Asset
Microsoft's newest console has lots of different features, but video games might hold the device back from the software giant's true intentions.

Free To Play Simpsons Game Pulled Because It's Too Popular

Posted on Monday, March 5 @ 13:07:39 Eastern by

As much as I'd like to be playing a new game feature The Simpsons on my iPhone right now, I can't. Why? WHY THE HELL CAN'T I?!

Oh, that's my job isn't it? While EA still hasn't posted Battlefield 3: Aftershock back on the iTunes App Store, they've decided to give The Simpsons: Tapped Out the same treatment due to overwhelming demand.

In a report, Pocket Gamer has found that in response to an inquiry as to the availability of the game was met with the following response from EA:

To ensure current players have the best possible experience, we've temporarily removed The Simpsons: Tapped Out from the App Store to limit the game's server capacity to its current players and address connectivity and lag time issues.

As soon as we have resolved these issues to handle greater player capacity, we will return The Simpsons: Tapped Out to the App Store so that even more people can enjoy this "life-ruiningly fun" game. Meanwhile, thanks to everyone for their patience, and we will provide an update as soon as we have more information to share.

We'll keep out an eye out and update you on when the game is back up on Apple's App Store marketplace.

This is a lie. They pulled it because it was completely dysfunctional. First, it would insist that you log in with an Origin account, even though it wasn't required. If you persisted, you'd actually get to play, only to have to do the tutorial twice. If you STILL kept playing, it would glitch the landscape eventually crash. If you really, really wanted to try again, it tells you to build something you can't, and you'd be stuck in loop.

    Update that, baby.
