Game Genie Releases For PS3 Tomorrow

Posted on Monday, July 16 @ 13:48:33 PST by Jonathan_Leack

Transferring save files on the PlayStation 3 can be a real pain and that's exactly why everyone's favorite genie has been hired.

Hyperkin will be releasing a new Game Genie tomorrow that is specifically tailored for the PlayStation 3. Sure, it supplies a list of cheats—which are extremely rare in today's games—, but the best thing it does is create save backups and allow save file trades. See below for a full list of features:
  • Loads, uploads and backs up your Save Data
  • USB Drive pre-loaded with Game Genie™ Software
  • Transfer save files from PS3 to PC for easy modification
  • Automatic Profile Reassignment
  • Ability to trade game save files with other players
  • Live RSS feed continuously updated with the newest cheats for the newest games
  • Secure access to the world’s premier cheat database with hundreds of available cheats updated constantly
Okay, so it's not the same lifesaving cheat system that we all used to overcome the notorious challenge of classic games, but making save file trades easy can let you enjoy a game like Dark Souls without the hassle of grinding gear. Don't expect to be able to get free trophies, though.

The Hyperkin Game Genie will be priced at $29.99 and a Nintendo DS version is already available.
