GameInformer's March Cover Is The Last Of Us

Posted on Friday, February 3 @ 16:58:52 Eastern by

GameInformer's covers have started trending towards major reveals or first-details of high-profile games from high-profile developers. Naturally, March belongs to highly anticipated adventure title from Naughty Dog, The Last of Us.

That means the cover real came with some new media. Above and below are three brand-new, in-game screenshots from the successor (?) to Uncharted. According to GameInformer, combat involves both melee and ranged combat, with weapons degenerating over time. Ellie (the player-character's daughter) is controlled entirely by AI so the game isn't necessarily a huge escort-mission.

Wondering what city you're looking at above? Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh?

As someone who lives only about thirty miles from the Steel City, I wouldn't argue if someone said that was supposed to be Pittsburgh.

Having lived there for college I have no love of the city, let the post apocalyptic survivors have it. The homeless were nicer ppl than the public.

Look at that lighting! Look at the art direction! Character models look insane! I love what GI is doing with those covers.

Between this and I Am Alive from Ubisoft, I'm hoping to see a return to survival.
