Gamestop Giving Batman: Arkham City Used Purchasers Catwoman Pass for Free

Posted on Friday, October 14 @ 11:02:14 Eastern by

The revelation that Batman: Arkham City's one-use code unlocks the entirety of Catwoman gameplay in the game's main campaign set back quite a few gamers looking to rent the game or buy used. GameStop feels your pain.

An internal memo verified with GameStop locations tells its retail staff that used copies of Batman: Arkham City should be paired with a code for Catwoman content printed on the receipt. All of this seems fairly counteractive to the online pass code itself, but GameStop is a huge corporation with some pretty strong ties with publishers.

We'll bring you more details as they become available. How many used copies of Batman: Arkham City will there be on shelves if the game isn't even out yet?

It usually takes them a week or two to put used copies up. And for new games, they usually go for $54.99 for a month or two. At that price you are better off just shelling out a couple extra dollars for the new copy, and get all the fancy extras. That's what I did for L.A. Noire and it scored me the Naked City DLC without a pre-order.

You're right I prefer to buy new myself, but there have been times where I haven’t been able to find a new copy of a game, and thus had to buy used. When I had my GBA you only got the game cartridge if you bought used, which kind of sucked.

I bet they don’t give you as much for you trade in because of this.

I prefer to buy new myself, but there have been times where I haven’t been able to find a new copy of a game, and thus had to buy used. Most often because the game I wanted was no longer being published. Does that make me an idiot in your book? Well, if it does the feeling is mutual.
