GameStop: Trade in Battlefield 3 for Modern Warfare 3!

Posted on Thursday, October 20 @ 16:36:10 Eastern by
According to the following ad for GameStop UK, owners who are, I suppose, disappointed with Battlefield 3 can trade it into GameStop before November 18th to get Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 for 99p.

If you purchase Battlefield 3 before October 27th, purchase Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, and finally return Battlefield 3 to GameStop in a pre-paid envelope, then GameStop will totally screw up this deal burglars will know which packages to steal GameStop will refund your credit or debit card so that you only pay 99p. Of course, they must receive the game before November 18th, the game must be in full working condition with all the original documentation, and Royal Mail must not have lost your mail... for this offer to apply.

Will we see this offer in U.S.? I'm not even sure I want to see it.

That's actually a good deal, in a way.
It allows people to try out BF3.

    eh. What is 99p?

So in other words, English Gamestops are offering to let you trade in for the same game in a different box?

Um, wow. That's like comparing Rage to Fallout, man. Neither game should even BE compared, what do they have in common? Modern warfare... that's about it. One is a large scale battlefield conflict, the other is small unit skirmishes and commando actions. Not a fair comparison at all. In fact, this whole Battlefield 3 vs Modern Warfare thing is stupid anyway. Buy them both, and enjoy them for different reasons. I mean, seriously? What is Modern Warfare's player cap? 16? I'm not sure, but I know Battlefield 3 is 64... so, yeah, completely different type of game, they just share the same 'setting', kind of.

They may not be similar as first person shooters, but anyone who doesn't play shooters won't see a big enough difference for there to even be an argument. I admitedly have played a lot of COD and even a fair amount of Battlefield, but this whole rivalry is a joke, essentially they are the same thing. Give me Uncharted 3!

Yeah that, and I also just wanted to see how many people would take my comment seriously.

This. I don't play a ton of fps but I do play some and to me they are the same game... I just don't see enough differences to really care about it.
