GAMING NEWSGameStop Wants To Help Indie Game Devs Create GamesPosted on Monday, February 4 @ 13:05:15 Eastern by Keri_Honea
Earlier today, GameStop announced their creation of the Kongregate Mobile Developers program, a $10 million fund for helping indie game developers create free-to-play games for mobile. The fund includes distribution, financial help, consulting services, and marketing supports for successful applicants.Kongregate will also provide quality assurance and "competitive research" to candidates to help each game have a successful launch. Games chosen for Kongregate creation will also receive promotion across Kongregate, the GameStop apps on iOS and Android, and GameStop's network of websites (remember, GameStop owns GameInformer). A few titles will be selected to be displayed at GameStop's retail stores across the world. In addition, GameStop has hired former Zynga general manager Panayoti Haritatos to be the new vice president of the Kongregate mobile division and to lead this program. May he have better success than he did with Zynga. Interested in applying for the program? Contact Kongregate and let them know! More from the Game Revolution Network Comments
