Gear of War Franchise Sales Now Over 19 Million

Posted on Wednesday, November 7 @ 13:19:53 Eastern by Alex_Osborn

The Gears of War franchise was born on the Xbox 360 and has gone on to be one of the platform's most valuable exclusives. From its groundbreaking "stop and pop" gameplay to its gorgeous visuals and over the top brutality, millions of gamers have fallen head over heels for this Locust-filled franchise.

That is why it should hardly come as a surprise to hear that Epic Games' killer franchise has now sold over 19 million copies. That's a whole heck of a lot of chainsaw lancering. Next year brings the launch of the prequel entry, Gears of War: Judgment, which explores the backstories of Cole and Baird.

Sound off in the comments below, telling us which Gears of War title has proven to be your favorite entry thus far. Personally, I lean towards the epic trilogy capper.

I think 3 was the best experience I had since I had a buddy come over and we BBQ'd, loaded up on snacks and just mowed through the coop. Although I'm pretty sure I did similar stuff with the other two haha. Maybe its just because I used to play on a 23" and now a 55".

Never played 1, but I like 2s campaign more than 3. 3 is probably my favourite though, there are just too many great multiplayer options.
