Gears of War 3 Tops 3 Million Copies in One Week

Posted on Tuesday, September 27 @ 11:20:44 Eastern by

Hey, what can I say? People love to chainsaw, curb-stomp, and all around maim each other. That's gotta be the only explanation behind Gears of War 3's startling sales numbers. With a week nearly all to itself, Epic Games and Microsoft Games Studios had no trouble selling more than 3 MILLION copies of the Gears trilogy finale.

In just five days in the United States and Europe, Gears of War 3 achieved 50% growth over Gears of War 2, outselling both previous Gears games combined. As the biggest launch of 2011 so far this year, Gears of War 3 continued its sales run into this week and is expected to top the previous Gears games in lifetime sales.

Have you hugged chainsawed a friend today?

Yet much like COD it sucks but not the gameplay really just the content in the game.

Gears of War doesn't suck and neither does CoD. Just because everyone plays a game doesn't mean it freaking sucks. I really hate it when people say that.

I'm enjoying it and I never played gears 1 and very little of 2. I got it so I could play xbl with my brother who lives 1000+ miles away.
