Microsoft's newest console has lots of different features, but video games might hold the device back from the software giant's true intentions.

Get a Discount on Skyrim with 5th Anniversary Edition of Oblivion

Posted on Monday, May 23 @ 11:28:58 Eastern by

I'm honest about the fact that I've never played an Elder Scrolls game before. Skyrim was going to be start of what seems like a long and unhealthy relationship with the western RPG series. Unfortunately, Bethesda knows that there are a ton of people like me in the world and they don't want Oblivion to sit on the shelves any longer.

That's why Bethesda and Zenimax Media are unleashing a very limited run of Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion 5th Anniversary Edition. If reports are to be believed, only 200,000 copies will be made.

The package includes

-Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Game of the Year Edition
-Collector's Edition Content (map, "Making of" DVD with Skyrim Trailer)
-$10 off coupon (redeemable at any retailer nationwide) for Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

The game will come packaged in a steelbook slip cover and run $29.99. The package will be at retail on June 28th for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. With only 200,000 units in circulation, this might be a retail package I'll pick up whether I play it or not.

Just the game of the year edition? It should come with all of the extra DLC too. The awesome player houses, the quest for Mehrunes' Razor, spell tomes, horse armor.

If the included all the DLC I would totally buy it even though I have the original. Holy ****! now that I think of. Oblivion was the reason I scrambled everywhere to get a 360 as soon as it came out. It was the only game i cared about that came out at launch basically. (and before you say "why didn't you get it for the PC, my computer was a piece of ****, that's why) That was FOREVER ago.

I bought the PC Collector's edition when it came out....No clue where the DVD is, lost the cool collector coin that came with it....Don't even have the case for the game. But I still have the game! So...29.99? I'd rather spend it on something else.

Oblivion was a wonderful game. You can sit down for a whole 12 pack of beer and still want to keep playing. I recently started another character, and got RE-hooked. I love my COD's, Borderlands, Mortal Kombat and all the other games that I play, but Oblivion was the game that made me KNOW the name Bethesda. Now I'm just trained to look at anything they make and give it a chance. Totally geeked for Skyrim. If you've never played this game, your missing out.

Same for me Deval. In a sense. Oblivion is the type of game I play for hours, HOURS I tells ya....But then forget about it for months or a year and come back to it wanting more. Games like Borderlands, MK or even Bioshock I beat and feel like "alright....Moving on" only to not come back to it.

I think I might have to pull out my copy and play through it again. But I still have to beat New Vegas first. Shit.

I put in over 80 hours and never bothered to finish the main quest. I should really do that some day.

COD is a game. Oblivion is a hobby
