Get Far Cry 3 and Hitman: Absolution Free With AMD Never Settle Bundle

Posted on Monday, October 22 @ 13:52:04 Eastern by

In perhaps a response to last month's Borderlands 2 deal with Nvidia's GeForce GTX 660 Ti, AMD has announced a holiday deal called the Never Settle Bundle where the purchase of the top-of-the-line HD 7900 series will grant you a free download code of Far Cry 3, Htiman: Absolution, and Sleeping Dogs. If that weren't enough, you also get a 20% off coupon code for the Digital Deluxe Edition of Medal of Honor: Warfighter to whet your appetite for multiplayer shooters.

As the chart above clearly shows, you can also purchase a less expensive AMD Radeon for a copy of Far Cry 3, which is well worth it despite the wait for the code when it releases in December. Buying two of these less expensive AMD Radeons will get you Hitman: Absolution as well.

Select boxes will also receive a coupon for immediate beta access for Firefall from Red 5 Studios with themed war paint and decals.

Not bad. Currently, performance per dollar for both AMD and Nvidia is very similar on their newest generation of cards, so bundled games could really help AMD and its partners sell more cards.
That said, I don't think the 2xHD7800 series deal is that great. You might get better performance than one HD7900 series card for the same price, but dealing with multi-GPU configurations has its own set of difficulties and issues that makes a single GPU setup much simpler. Although bundled games should be the least of your concerns when picking a graphics card to last several years, so that extra Hitman game probably shouldn't be a deciding factor on whether to Crossfire or not.

Whenever I put a PC game through that systemrequirementslab.com site, I always fail at the video card requirement for any game made in the last couple years. I just might do this, since I've been looking forward to Far Cry 3 for a while and I've been wanting to get into PC gaming. Time to start saving up!

Hmm spend 350-400 dollars on a new video card and get three free games. I suppose if I were in the market I'd take advantage of the deal, but my card is still holding it's own. I really don't think I'll need to upgrade it for another year or so. I certainly wouldn't buy a card I hadn't planned to to just for this deal though.

Gotta love a deal. Though of the titles offered, the only one I'm particularly excited about is Far Cry 3.
