God of War "From Ashes" Super Bowl Trailer Now Live

Posted on Friday, February 1 @ 08:39:03 Eastern by Alex_Osborn

Sony's been teasing this gosh darn commercial quite a bit this week, so I'm sure you're expecting it to be awfully impressive.

As expected, this God of War-themed live-action ad features Kratos, his wife, and his daughter. The clip is titled "From Ashes," so those of you who played the first game will likely be familiar with what this is in reference to.

Is it just me, or does Kratos look a bit goofy? He totally sticks out like a sore thumb, which I guess was intentional, but man, it had me chuckling rather than crying. What did you think of the commercial? Are these live-action depictions of Kratos really a good idea? Are they effective? Let us know what you think in the comments below.

God of War: Ascension launches on March 12th, exclusively for the PlayStation 3.

The music was wrong. Kratos did look a little off until he got all ashy. Lotion should clear that up.
